TORTA DI MELE PASTA

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 22-24 cm (8-9 inch) round cake pan.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add the softened butter and vanilla extract, and continue whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined, making sure not to overmix.
  5. Transfer the dough to the pan: Pour the cake dough into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Add apple slices (optional step): If you like, you can add thinly sliced apples on top of the dough before baking.
  7. Bake the cake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with powdered sugar on top if desired.
