- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the grated cheese, herbs, salt, and pepper. If using ham or turkey, cut it into small pieces and mix it into the cheese mixture.
- Fill the Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangular strips (around 10 x 5 cm). Spread a teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center of each strip, then fold them over to seal the filling inside. Press the edges with a fork to secure.
- Egg Wash: Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the pastry strips to give them a golden color when baked.
- Bake: Place the filled pastry strips on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
