Involtini di carne

Ingredients:

  • 8 thin slices of beef (or pork), about 100g each (sirloin or flank steak work well)
  • 100g prosciutto or pancetta, sliced thinly
  • 100g cheese (such as provolone, mozzarella, or fontina), cut into strips or cubes
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for added texture)
  • Olive oil for searing
  • 1 cup white wine (or red, depending on preference)
  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes or 1-2 cups beef broth for sauce (optional)
  • Toothpicks or kitchen twine to secure the rolls
